Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."
Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213
If not previously done, parents and godparents are required to attend a Preparation Class offered on the FIRST SATURDAY of each month at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Room. Many couples find it convenient to attend the class before the birth of the child. Godparents may take instruction at St. Thomas Aquinas or their own parish.
Baptimal Certificates are available upon request.
Please send the name, date of baptism (or apporximate date), and birthday of the person needing the certificate to James Taylor.
