Our Lady’s Altar Society was formed more than 50 years ago when Msgr. John T. Gulcznski asked young school mothers to organize an essential Altar Society—some of the original members are still our most faithful members today! Now we are asking all women of any age and all interests to come forward and join like-minded women in spiritual and community sistership.
Our membership is made up of smaller groups called Circles although members do not have to belong to a Circle to be a member of the Altar Society. Circles support various charitable and spiritual organizations like providing welcome baskets for new seminarians, knitting and crocheting baby and adult items, making activity booklets for children at Parkland Hospital, hosting a light lunch for our monthly meetings, and cleaning the church.
The Altar Society serves our parish by operating the gift shop, maintaining the church candles and liturgical vestments, providing small boxes of personal items for people being helped by homeless shelters, and hosting the annual Fall and Spring Bake Sales from which all proceeds go directly back to the parish to keep our church beautiful and safe.
The entire membership gathers on the third Tuesday of every month from September through May at noon in the St Anne Hall. A light lunch is provided followed by interesting, entertaining, and educational presentations.
Join us for sistership and service to our church. New friends are waiting to meet you! Come to your first meeting as our guest.
Dues are $10 annually or $125 for a perpetual membership. You can register and pay online using the form below. After you submit the form, you will be asked to select your membership options (annual or lifetime) and then click "Pay Now" at PayPal.
Our Lady’s Altar Society offers the opportunity to honor a loved one or commemorate a special occasion with flowers donated for the altar. Your intention can also be recognized in the bulletin if you wish.
