The St. Francis of Assisi Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, 7:30-9:15, September through June. The choir sings at the Sunday morning 9:00 mass, and special liturgies throughout the year.
In the wake of Vatican II, the St. Francis Choir was formed at St. Thomas Aquinas with the mission of providing accessible liturgical music that fostered the participation of the faithful. Supplementing an extensive repertoire by post-Vatican II composers, the choir sings traditional sacred choral repertoire from all periods of church history, as well as music of cultures around the world, American hymnody, and gospel music.
Every other Sunday, the St. Francis of Assisi choir joins with the St. Thomas Aquinas Junior and Senior Choristers to provide an SATB intergenerational choir in the Anglican cathedral style.
