The St. Thomas Aquinas Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30, September through June. They sing for the Sunday morning 11:00 mass, as well as concerts and special liturgies throughout the year. The choir has toured Europe several times, visiting such countries as Ireland, Italy, and Spain.
The choir's repertoire consists of traditional sacred music spanning over a thousand years of church history, from chant and polyphony to contemporary composers, with an emphasis on the works of Bach, Mozart and other baroque and classical composers. Concert works performed in recent years include requiem masses by Mozart, Michael Haydn, Duruflé, Fauré, and Rutter; Stabat Mater (Pergolesi), Messiah (Handel), St. John Passion (Bob Chilcott), A Ceremony of Carols (Britten) and select cantatas by J.S. Bach.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Choir welcomes new adult members by audition. Requirements include the ability to read music, choral singing experience and commitment to regular attendance. If you are interested in joining the St. Thomas Aquinas Choir contact Michael Conrady.
